It’s imperative that you are your number one advocate. Only you can advocate for yourself the way that you truly need to. Approach your leaders with a plan, and ask for what you want.


Make decisions and prepare yourself to make mistakes. Don’t be afraid to make the unpopular decision and own it. Taking risks makes change, and gets you noticed.


Sometimes the best way to get from point A to point B isn’t the way that you think Be open to new paths and opportunities that may come your way.


If you are consistently proving that you are good in your role, than a promotion isn’t out of the question. Advocate for a promotion with a list as to why a promotion is a beneficial decision for the business.


In a company, make sure to understand all the units of the company, and how you, in your position, help them to meet the collective goals. It’s important to make sure your focus is beyond your role only.


Get involved as a leader in your industry connecting and mentoring people who are also in your industry.


When walking into a negotiation, make sure that you know what your target is, and to treat the person who you’re negotiating with like you’d like to be treated. It’s a successful negotiation if you both feel like you win. Don’t shy away from silence.


Keep a pulse on what’s going on, and make sure you know how everything is working below you. Especially when you’re selling a physical product, it’s important to check the product and be conscious of what’s going on around you to make sure things are executed in a way that you’d be proud of.


If you’re nervous, you’re doing it right. It’s important to keep putting yourself in places of discomfort because it means you’re growing. 


It’s important to focus on not caring what people think. People are going to judge you anyway, and those are the people who don’t really care about you and don’t realize what the right decision is for you.


Make sure you’re investing in yourself. There is no bigger payoff. 


Do not let fear hold you back from going after what you want.
